GEVES receives HEV certification for 4 of its experimental units!

The GEVES chose the HVE (High Environmental Value) certification indicators to evaluate and monitor the progress of the experimental units in the agroecological transition (450 ha of fields, 16,000 m² of greenhouses).

These indicators, calculated for the 2024 season, are very good and show that the agro-ecological transition is well underway in the GEVES experimental units, thanks in particular to :

  • The presence of numerous agro-ecological infrastructures (19 km of hedges, 25 ha of grassed areas, 4 km of ditches, etc.),
  • Multi-species crop rotation, rich in legumes and often low in inputs,
  • The use of alternative methods to plant protection products on 34% of the UAA (137 ha of mechanical weeding, 8 ha of insect-proof netting, application of biocontrol products on 37 ha, etc.),
  • Controlled use of plant protection products (50% below regional benchmarks)
  • 50% of nitrogen supplied in organic form
  • The use of decision-making tools to manage nitrogen fertilisation and irrigation,
  • Irrigation equipment that optimises water input (drip irrigation, electronic regulation, etc.),
  • The technical expertise and commitment of the experimental teams.

Thanks to these results, the long-term commitment of the teams and the audit carried out on 17 March 2025, 4 GEVES units have been awarded HEV certification.
