Research & Development

GEVES concentrates on applied research, with projects aimed at developing, improving, and harmonising methods for seed quality analysis and variety testing at a national, European and international level.

Research Activities

GEVES’s research activities have three main areas of focus: performance and value of new plant varieties, variety description, and seed quality.

Tools & Equipment

To carry out its research projects, GEVES uses equipment and tools to evaluate variety behaviour and seed quality.

Scientific Communication

GEVES publishes the results of its research activities in peer-reviewed scientific journals and technical journals. It also communicates regularly at international conferences on varieties and seeds.

Calls for Projects

Each year, the Technical Committee for Plant Breeding (CTPS), together with the Ministry of Agriculture, launches a CASDAR call for projects for “Seeds and Plant Breeding”.

CASDAR Seminars

The CTPS Scientific Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, regularly organises restitution seminars for the projects selected by the CASDAR Call for Projects.
