Delegation from the Official Tunisian Laboratory for training on legume seeds

GEVES welcomed a delegation of 6 people from the Laboratoire d’Analyse des Semences et Plants (LASP), the official Tunisian laboratory, for a training course at SNES from 9 to 13 January 2023.

GEVES has been supporting the LASP accreditation project by ISTA for several years now, in order to enable Tunisia to issue the international bulletins that are essential for seed exports. This training is part of a TAIEX project, a technical assistance and information exchange programme of the European Commission. 10 instructors took turns to train the trainees, whose objective was to consolidate technical knowledge in physical and germination analysis, mainly for legume seeds.

A personalised programme was prepared, alternating theory and practice, as well as a presentation of the materials used and useful documents. This week of training ended with a visit to the laboratories.

The LASP trainees’ application of the information and knowledge they required will be followed up by remote exchanges and collaborations.
