CTPS Fruit Crop Meeting

At the latest meeting of the CTPS Fruit Crops Section,  discussions  largely focused on two new EU regulations: the Plant Health Regulation (2016/2031/UE which interacts with the implementing directives for fruit species commercialisation) and the Organic Agriculture Regulation (2018/848/UE).

The Section also discussed issues related to the production of organic plants for the fruit-tree sector, with the participation of a representative from INAO (the National Institute of Origin and Quality). Representatives of nurseries are encouraged to take part in the discussions held on this subject, particularly in the INAO’s National Seeds and Plants Commission, and in the CISAB Commission (Inter-Section Commission dedicated to variety testing for organic agriculture).
