2026 General Assembly of the European PHENET project and its technology exhibition in Belgium
From 8 to 10 September, the general assembly of the European “PHENET” project – which focuses on the development of new methods for phenotyping and envirotyping – was held in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Hosted by the Catholic University of Louvain, and followed by a technology exhibition dedicated to PHENET and open to stakeholders, GEVES carried out demonstrations of digital tools for quantifying fusarium head blight.
Phenet Annual General Meeting:
This provided an opportunity for GEVES, in the presence of Valérie Cadot and Nicolas Mascher, to discuss with the 31 other partners the latest innovations and applications developed over the past year, and to consider how to ensure the sustainability of the results beyond the end of the project, which concludes in December 2027.
Phenet Technology Fair
Immediately following the general meeting, a technology exhibition was held on the afternoon of 10 September to showcase the tools, services and innovations developed through the Phenet project, with over 90 people registered, including around 40 stakeholders and around 50 Phenet members.
GEVES, represented by V. Cadot, and the CRA-W in Gembloux, represented by Philippe Vermeulen and Damien Vincke, presented the latest developments in digital tools for detecting and quantifying various wheat pests (Fusarium head blight, orange blossom midge, etc.) using computer vision or smartphones and smart glasses, as well as videos and posters, at the CRA-W’s Mobilab.
