Target achieved for the 22nd edition of the Laboratory Days

On Thursday 16 and Friday 17 September, GEVES hosted nearly 80 people from around 40 organisations (mainly seed production companies) for a seminar, which for some was preceded by a workshop on vigour analysis.

The wide range of topics covered made it possible to anticipate changes to the ISTA rules and to discuss numerous technical issues relating to seed quality testing laboratories, particularly metrology.

These days allow bonds to be forged between all the laboratories… Indeed, “Weaving” was the central theme of the event, with a convivial evening organised for participants to coincide with a visit to the exhibition “Aubusson weaves Tolkien” in the exceptional setting of the Hôpital St Jean in Angers.

It’s only a short step from Tolkien’s magic to the advent of Artificial Intelligence in seed quality analysis! David Rousseau from the University of Angers, who was invited for the occasion, gave us an insight into AI and its application to the field of seed quality assessment.

The date has already been set for 2027 for the 23rd edition of the Seed Quality Analysis Laboratories Days.
