The GEVES Scientific Committee meets to discuss AI and varietal resistance

The GEVES Scientific Committee met on 29 September to discuss the R&D projects being carried out at GEVES.

This committee, comprising scientists from public and private organisations within the seed sector and chaired by Catherine Giauffret of INRAE, is responsible for advising GEVES on the direction of its R&D.

Discussions focused on the development of methods for assessing varietal resistance to pests, particularly the issue of sustainable resistance management, and on the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in variety evaluation and seed quality analysis.
