What is CISAB?

Created in 2017 within the CTPS, the Inter-Section Commission dedicated to Organic Agriculture is a multi-disciplinary working group, bringing together more than 70 members from all the French sectors, with the aim of encouraging the development of varieties suitable for organic agriculture.

At a meeting on 3 October, the committee discussed the 1st submission of Biological Heterogeneous Material (BHM) under examination in France! This was an opportunity to clarify that this type of material has been eligible for notification since January 2022, after a file has been studied and a sample provided.

“Pop Orvilliers”, a soft winter wheat produced by a farmer-baker in Beauce, has joined 24 other “MHBs” already listed in Europe.
