Seed quality analysis – Technical information webinar – 21 September 2023

The annual meeting of seed quality analysis laboratories was replaced this year by an information webinar due to work at the SNES and was attended by more than 40 laboratories.

GEVES, the NRL for seed certification and plant health, makes a major contribution to several ISTA committees. The ISTA rules are essential for the methods applied for seed quality analysis, and changes are voted each year at the ISTA.

The purpose of the webinar was to provide information on forthcoming changes to the ISTA rules (January 2024) as well as news from SNES laboratories.  Developments were presented, in particular the use of artificial intelligence to help with counting analyses.
