New Notification Procedure for Organic Heterogenous Materiel
As of 1 January 2022, regulation (EU) 2018/848 on organic production allows the marketing of a new type of plant reproductive material, organic heterogeneous material, characterised by a high genetic and phenotypic diversity between different reproductive units.
In order to market seeds or seedlings of organic heterogeneous material, a notification of this material must be sent and the requirements set out in the Regulation 2018/848 and Delegated Regulation must be met. A decree concerning the notification procedure in France was published on 11 February. The Ministry of Agriculture has delegated to GEVES the reception of the notification file and the verification of the conformity of the elements provided in the file.
