CTPS Section Straw Cereals

The CTPS Cereal Committee met on 24 July 2025 in Paris.

The Committee reviewed preliminary results of the ongoing harvest, noting early progress and generally satisfactory yields. It approved proposals from the DUS and VSCU studies, along with updates to the French Official Catalogue.

The Committee also validated several changes, including new standard varieties for VSCU, the adoption of NIRS for protein evaluation and the merging of barley trial networks. It supported ongoing work on wheat quality classification and initiated discussions on the future of the nitrogen trial network. Members were also updated on upcoming EU regulations on plant reproductive material and new genomic techniques.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 23 October 2025 (afternoon) in Paris.
