“Climate change and varietal evaluation” referral

The CTPS Scientific Committee met on 11 October to launch the “Climate change and variety evaluation” referral. The aim of this referral is to define how climate change can be better taken into account when varieties are registered in the Catalogue.

Following a presentation by Nathalie de Noblet, climatologist at the CEA on climate change and the context for tomorrow’s agriculture, the SC drew up its work plan for the coming year, to help CTPS sections to adopt the most appropriate experimental strategy and to better integrate adaptation criteria into the assessment of new plant varieties.
