Chairman of the UPOV Fruit group

At the 57th session of the UPOV Council on 27 October 2023, Carole Dirwimmer of GEVES was named Chair of the UPOV Technical Working Party for Fruit species (TWF).

For a period of 3 years, she will lead the working group, in particular the revision of examination principles, including that of the Japanese plum and Prunus hybrids, the revision of which is being steered by GEVES.

Cross-cutting issues will also be discussed: such as the sharing of technical information on varieties between examination offices, requests for plant material for reference collections and new techniques for the DUS.
