A new chair for the Collections & Biodiversity Fund

Alain Moulinier was named President of the Collections & Biodiversity Fund in January 2026. With a career dedicated to public agricultural policy and the preservation of cultivated biodiversity, Alain Moulinier has served as Vice-President of the CGAEER and President of the CTPS. He succeeds Marion Guillou, to whom we extend our sincere thanks for her unwavering commitment and decisive support for the development of the Fund.

It supports public-interest initiatives aimed at the long-term conservation, promotion and transmission of expertise relating to plant genetic resources.

It works to protect this living heritage and strengthen its contribution to the agricultural, food and climate challenges of the future.

Alain Moulinier has devoted most of his career to developing and steering national strategies for sustainable agriculture, fully integrating the challenges of climate change, agroecology and biodiversity. As the founder of the Plant Genetic Resources section at the CTPS and the architect of the “Seeds and Plants for Sustainable Agriculture” (SPAD 1 & SPAD 2) programmes, he has made a significant contribution to shaping national initiatives to promote seed conservation and the resilience of agricultural systems.

Recognised for his commitment to the public interest, his ability to bring people together and his expertise across all the major groups of crop species, Alain Moulinier will bring a strategic perspective to the Fund that is essential for strengthening and sustaining its work.

The Collections and Biodiversity Fund works to preserve the heritage of cultivated plants and their wild relatives. For more information: https://www.fonds-collections-et-biodiversite.fr/.
