A look back at the Annual Day of Approved Plant Health Laboratories

On June 3 in Angers, the Anses hosted the annual day of approved plant health laboratories, a key event bringing together those involved in plant health monitoring and diagnostics on a national scale.

The day provided an opportunity to strengthen the links between the various approved laboratories and reference structures, focusing on key plant health issues: quality of analyses, harmonisation of practices, health monitoring, diagnostic innovation, etc.

GEVES, in its capacity as National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for Plant Health for Regulated Non-Quarantine Organisms on seeds, took an active part in this day, illustrating its central role in coordinating analysis methods and supporting the network’s laboratories.

The morning was devoted to presentations by the DGAL, GEVES and Anses, and the afternoon to guided tours of the GEVES and Anses laboratories, highlighting the complementary nature of their expertise. Participants were able to discover the diagnostic platforms, the cutting-edge technologies used and the method validation processes. The afternoon continued with themed workshops at Anses. The day illustrated the importance of coordination between laboratories to meet the growing challenges of plant health.

Many thanks to the Anses for its warm welcome and to all the participants for the rich discussions.
