New method available for SE-RT-qPCR detection of ToMMV in tomato and pepper seeds

The GEVES now offers a high-throughput rapid SE-RT-qPCR testing service for the detection of Tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) in tomato and pepper seeds.

The laboratory verified the performance characteristics and validated the proficiency of the laboratory to use this method.

This new protocol used in the lab involves the use of two Taqman probes (CaTa9 and ToMMV2) for the specific detection of ToMMV on 1000 seeds (catalogue code PA-VI-98-1) or 3000 seeds (PA-VI-98).

In addition, this method can be combined with the ToBRFV method for detection on the same sample of 1000 (PA-VI-99-1) or 3000 seeds (PA-VI-99).

The bioassay method remains available for the detection of infectious tobamoviruses.
