Workshop on “Detection and identification of bruchids in seed samples”

On 4 November, GEVES organised a workshop on the detection and identification of bruchids in seed samples for laboratories in the French seed industry.

The aim of the day was to share knowledge and practices relating to the detection of insects, particularly bruchids, in seed samples.

The morning was devoted to:

  • theoretical presentations on insect taxonomy,
  • regulatory aspects,
  • existing methods with a focus on the official method,
  • the application of new technologies.

During the afternoon, participants took part in practical workshops focused on implementing the official method and identifying bruchids species.
