ToBRFV: renewal of approval & developments in variety resistance testing

After more than a year as the only laboratory approved by the Ministry of Agriculture for the detection of ToBRFV in seeds, our approval was renewed on 21/07/21 following our successful participation in the Inter-Laboratory Profiency Test organised by ANSES for the official method MA066.

In parallel, the laboratory has worked on the development of a resistance evaluation test for tomato varieties for the seed industry. After obtaining different strains and varieties, the laboratory is studying the levels of resistance. The ToBRFV resistance evaluation service is now available at GEVES using biotests and RT-qPCR detection.
