The Gen2Bio conference

On 12 and 13 March, the 16th edition of Biogenouest’s Gen2Bio scientific conference took place at the Jean Monnier conference centre in Angers. This year, the theme of the conference was “innovation for sustainable agriculture”. Biogenouest is a scientific consortium composed of 38 life sciences and environmental research platforms (Marine, Agronomy, Health and Data Science) in the Bretagne and Pays de la Loire regions. PHENOTIC, the network’s seed and plant platform, in which GEVES is actively involved, is part of the structural analysis and metabolomics research area. During the technical workshops, presentations by D. Demilly (“Seed phenotyping: what’s new”) and T. Boureau and E. Belin (“PHENOTIC: Let’s use Phenobean”) provided an opportunity to present the platform’s innovations and service offering.

Three scientific conferences focused on seeds, plants or imaging: Functional genetics of the metabolic processes involved.

  • Ecological interactions among plants of the Brassicaceae family – Antoine GRAVOT, IGEPP, Rennes
  • The contribution of imaging techniques to understanding the quality and processing suitability of plant-based agricultural resources (grains/stems) – Cécile BARRON, IATE, Montpellier
  • Secreted small peptides, tools for boosting plant immunity – Sébastien AUBOURG, IRHS, Angers.
