Ornamental expertise at IPM 2024

Every year at the end of January, the IPM trade fair in Essen, Germany, is an international meeting place for stakeholders in the ornamental sector. GEVES is present on the CPVO stand (Community Plant Variety Office) with its German, Polish and Dutch counterparts.

The aim is to present the principle of intellectual protection in Europe by means of a PVR (Plant Variety Rights) which enables breeders and creators of new plant varieties to benefit from various advantages (link to find out more).

GEVES is authorised by the CPVO to carry out DUS (Distinction Homogeneity Stability) tests on many ornamental, agricultural and vegetable species. These DUS examinations make it possible to establish the identity card of candidate varieties thanks to precise human expertise and the maintenance of variety collections.

DUS tests for ornamental species are carried out at the GEVES units in Brion, Cavaillon and Anjouère. See the summary brochure
