New Organic Farming Regulation

The new regulation 2018/848 on organic production and labelling of organic products was published on 30 May, and will enter into force on 1 January 2021. Regarding crop production, it introduces in particular two new categories of plant material, the ‘organic variety suitable for organic production’ and ‘organic heterogeneous material’, and provides marketing rules adapted to the latter. Implementing acts will complement this regulation and will be discussed as from 2019.
