Belgian examination office visit to GEVES

Within the framework of the collaboration between examination offices and sharing of experiences, two experts from the Belgian examination office, CRA-W based in Gembloux, came to visit GEVES’s facilities and meet colleagues in Le Magneraud and Angers on 31/01 and 2/02/2022. They exchanged with various GEVES experts on the following topics:

  • BioGEVES: presentation of the NMR tool for measuring sunflower oil content
  • Variety Study Department: management of seed collections for DUS and VCUS in cereals, soybean and sunflower, development of protocols, agronomic methods and technological analysis used, as well as pest resistance tests implemented at GEVES, in particular evaluation of fusariosis and the early bunt resistance test developed by GEVES
  • SNES (National Seed Testing Station): presentation of practices at the pathology and sampling laboratories.
