New Cladosporium races on tomato

Following the epidemiological study under the umbrella of ISF (link to the website: https://worldseed.org/document/differential-sets-passalorafulva-may-2022/), in which GEVES was a partner, 5 new races of Passalora fulva (ex Cladosporium fulvum) were identified. These new races break the resistance conferred by the Cf-9 resistance gene, which is frequently used in commercial tomato varieties because it has not been overcome in the field until now. This work also provided an opportunity to define a new harmonised coding system.

These new races are now available in MATREF, and resistance evaluation tests are possible at GEVES.
