« Seed Health Online Training » organised by ISTA Seed Health Committee (SHC)

The ISTA Seed Health Committee (SHC) organised a Seed Health Online training on 18th and 25th February 2022. More than 100 participants attended the training.  Valerie Grimault, head of the GEVES phytopathology laboratory and chair of the SHC, gave a general introduction of seed health testing, highlighting the important points in quality insurance to pass an audit. Lectures were then given by members of the seed health comittee. 4 sessions presented the different methods to detect bacteria, nematodes, fungi and viruses, with a total of 15 presentations. The different type of ISTA methods were described. After each session, a quizz allowed the participants to test their knowledge on the methods. A question and answer session was organised at the end of each training day and allowed a very fruitful exchange of information with the participants. GEVES was involved in 9 of the presentations and coordinated the training, with a strong involvement of the SHC members and the ISTA secretariat. This training event will be followed by the organisation of webinars in collaboration with the Seed Pathology Committee of International Society of Plant Pathology.
