Launch of SUPRASEED and Stakeholders’ Day for the BioControl & Biostimulants Big Challenge for Agroecology

On 6 May 2026 in Paris, stakeholders involved in the Biocontrol and Biostimulation Big Challenge for Agroecology (GDBBA), including GEVES, gathered together.

The involvement of all components of the GDBBA’s distributed infrastructure (the Great Challenge being funded by ANR France 2030 and overseen by the Association for Biocontrol & Biostimulants for Agroecology – ABBA) has made it possible to structure a clear and operational service offering, strengthen cohesion between components, identify strategic synergies and lay the foundations for a sustainable business model.

Prior to that, in March 2026, SUPRASEED, one of the components of the GDBBA, had been officially launched in Versailles.

SUPRASEED is fully integrated into the Grand Défi’s distributed infrastructure, with the aim of contributing to the quality and performance of seeds and plants through innovative and sustainable solutions.

On this occasion, GEVES participated as the coordinator of one of the service offerings (No. 1). Jaiana Malabarba and Didier Demilly presented this offering, confirming GEVES’s strong commitment to evaluating the effect of biosolutions on seeds and seedlings under controlled conditions. Discussions were also enriched by the presence of Marie-Hélène Wagner, Audrey Dupont and Ophélie Dubreu. These interactions between partners paved the way for five years of ambitious work, dedicated to developing tools to evaluate biosolutions in the context of seed and seedling protection and performance.

Finally, on the second day of the ABBA Seminar on 22 May, Chandrodhay Saccaram (IJPB) and Ophélie Dubreu had the opportunity to present SUPRASEED’s services to the association’s members during a workshop followed by a debriefing session.
