Laboratory Days 2024: the 20th!
- How can the use of a riffle divider be improved, both for the operator and to make sampling more reliable?
- What botanical criteria should be used to recognise the seeds of other plants for purity and enumeration analyses?
- What changes to the ISTA rules will apply from January 2025?
- What methodological or technological projects are underway to assess seed quality?
These are just some of the questions that were answered at the 20th Seed Quality Laboratory Days organised by GEVES on 26 and 27 September 2024 in Beaucouzé.
Nearly 80 people, mainly from seed company laboratories, contributed to making this event both technical and convivial.
In the evening, to celebrate both the 20th anniversary and the 140th anniversary of the SNES, we opened the Graines ou Semences exhibition at the Maison de l’Environnement in Angers ( open until 17 November). The exhibition is part of the “Graines ou semences?:140 years of a collective history” programme, which brings together a wide range of partners (research, training, education, communication, scientific culture and the seed industry).
A programme of conferences on the 2nd day of the laboratory days took participants on a journey through time, looking at the challenges facing the industry and the fronts of seed research. A round table discussion looked at the role of analysts today and in the future.
Please note: The 21st Lab Days will be held on 18 and 19 September 2025 at GEVES in Beaucouzé (49).
