Biocontrol consortium annual days!

On 14 and 15 November, the Biocontrol consortium held its final annual meeting in Angers. These days were an opportunity to summarise the various actions and projects in connection with the main work themes (microbiome, regulation and coordination). The ABBA association (Biocontrol and Biostimulation Association for Agroecology) is the successor to the consortium.

No fewer than 7 projects have been or are currently underway on these themes: XP-BC / CARE / VISA / IBC / DeciControl+ / BioSprayPerrenial / SeedBioProtect, with GEVES as a partener in the latter.

A presentation of the Biocontrol and Biostimulation Grand Challenge for Agroecology within the framework of France 2030 and its areas of work was also given, followed by a presentation of the new ABBA association.

Created in November 2023, this association brings together more than 80 members from private and public bodies, including GEVES. ABBA aims to contribute to the development and deployment of biocontrol and biostimulation in France, and one of its missions is to lead the Grand Défi. Participants took part in workshops focusing on areas 2 (distributed infrastructures) and 3 (research projects).

These days also included technical visits, with GEVES presenting its expertise in imaging and evaluating bio-solutions at its facilities.
