The Brion station hosts the Scientific Committee of GEVES

On 2 September, the Brion station hosted the GEVES Scientific Committee, made up of scientists from public and private organisations in the seed industry.

The GEVES Scientific Committee is responsible for advising GEVES on R&D policy in relation to methods of description, varieties and seed analysis.

Following discussions on GEVES’ R&D projects and partnerships concerning envirotyping in relation to climate change, the study of the effect of biosolutions on seeds, and the use of genotyping for DUS, reflections on the setting up and monitoring of research projects were discussed.

The SC members then had the opportunity to learn about DUS trials and research projects testing the contribution of genotyping to DUS carried out on vegetable, ornamental and protein crop species.
