Publication of the GEVES Index Seminum 2025

Index Seminum is a specialised catalogue published by botanical gardens and research institutions. It lists seeds available for exchange with other institutions around the world. This practice facilitates the sharing of plant resources and supports biodiversity conservation, research and education.

GEVES has published its own Index Seminum 2025 featuring 132 species of native or naturalized plants. These species were grown and harvested in 2023 and 2024 in the garden at GEVES headquarters in Beaucouzé. This work was carried out by the Pôle Botanique team within the SNES Physical Analysis Laboratory.

The publication was sent to 124 European correspondents and is aimed exclusively at research institutions and botanic gardens.

The main aim of this activity is to encourage seed exchanges that will enable us to update and develop the laboratory’s collections, which are useful for our day-to-day seed identification work.
