Interlaboratory Comparison Testing / PT
ILC testing at GEVES
Interlaboratory Comparison (ILC) tests are used either to assess the performance of a laboratory or to validate a test method.
Proficiency testing is used to assess the competence of a laboratory.
It is also possible to organise mini-comparisons with two or more participating laboratories, on the same basis as an PT. The organisation of these mini-comparisons and the statistical processing of results is adapted to the smaller number of laboratories involved.
Proficiency testing and mini-comparison PTs can be organised by contacting the SNES.
At GEVES, PTs are organised in accordance with the principles of the 17043 accreditation standard. The competence of the teams involved with regard to the tests and species concerned is instrumental.
Regardless of the framework chosen by the PT’s prescribing body (la Direction de la Qualité et du Contrôle officiel de SEMAE, UFS or other), GEVES guarantees total anonymity and confidentiality. This is ensured by assigning a code identity to both participants and samples.
