An energetic start to the new year: a new mandate and an action schedule!

The CTPS Plant Genetic Resources Section met in working group format on 28 January 2025. After a reminder of how the CTPS works and the rules governing representation and professional ethics, the members plunged into the 2025-2026 roadmap.

Four actions have been identified as priorities. The first is to continue the discussions on access to water in times of restriction in order to safeguard the resources of the National Collection, which began during the previous term of office.

Still on the subject of preservation, work will be carried out on structuring double security for these resources. From a legal point of view, the implications for the manager of deposit in the National Collection will be analysed in order to clarify the issues involved.

Lastly, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture will be working on the list of wild related species.
