GEVES renews its ISTA accreditation

Following the triennial audit in January 2025, GEVES renewed its ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) accreditation.

For GEVES, this audit covers both sampling on the lot and at the laboratory, physical analyses, seedhealth quality and germination in the broadest sense, and a wide range of species.

This accreditation recognizes the competence of the GEVES teams and guarantees the quality and reliability of its seed quality analysis results.

ISTA accreditation allows GEVES to publish ISTA International Bulletins, which are widely used in the international seed trade thanks to the use of internationally recognized methods.

The International Orange Bulletins (OIC) are central to this system, as they also guarantee the representativeness of the results in relation to the entire seed lot, thanks to the control of sampling conditions.

In accordance with European directives, ISTA methods are those used for seed certification in France.

ISTA accreditation thus enables GEVES to fully fulfill its role as the National Reference Laboratory for seeds and seelings serving the French seed industry.

We are very pleased to inform you that we have received approval for the reaccreditation of our laboratory.

The scope of accreditation has been modified following this audit with two new methods for detecting Aphelenchoides besseyi on rice and Ascochyta rabiei on chickpeas.

Please note that the method for detecting Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae on carrots has been withdrawn, but remains available under the GEVES scale outside of ISTA accreditation.

Our full scope is available on the ISTA website: GEVES-SNES – Membership – International Seed Testing Association
