INVITE: Last annual meeting of the European project on variety testing

GEVES took part from June 11 to 13 in Florence (Italy) to the last annual meeting of the INVITE European project, which aims to improve variety testing methods in relation to biotic and abiotic constraints.

Promising results were presented regarding the development of phenotyping tools and molecular markers, and the use of modelling and envirotyping to help design trial networks with the aim of better characterizing varieties in relation to climate change. During the event, GEVES was involved in drafting the conclusions of this research project, which will be presented to stakeholders (examination offices, post-registration offices, breeders, etc.) and policy makers during the project restitution meeting to be held on December 10 in Brussels.
